Peter has wide experience in business, law, local government, philanthropy and the arts. He was a Councilor and Deputy Lord Mayor at the City of Melbourne: a Councilor and Mayor at the City of Greater Geelong; Chairman of the Melbourne International Comedy Festival; Deputy President of the Museums Board of Victoria; a Board member of Philanthropy Australia; a Board member of the Victorian Curriculum and Assessment Authority; a Board member of the Melbourne Community Foundation (now Australian Communities Foundation) and a Board member of the Education Foundation (now Foundation for Young Australians.)
Peter is the Immediate Past President of the Geelong Art Gallery and has mentored the development of a Chamber of Commerce in Timor-Leste over the past five years.
He is the Immediate Past President of the Victorian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VECCI) and currently chairs ACCI’s Trade and International Affairs Committee. He is a Board member of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) Australia. He is Treasurer and Council Member of the Australian Institute of International Affairs Victoria. He is a founding Director of the Australasian Dispute Resolution Centre Pty Ltd (www.adrcentre.com.au), specialising in dispute resolution in the Asia-Pacific region.
He was a member of the Commonwealth Refugee Review Tribunal and a member of the Victorian Residential Tenancies and Small Claims Tribunals(now VCAT)
