Henry C.S. Kao, Chairman of I-Mei Foods Co. Ltd., became CACCI Vice-President during the 89th CACCI Council Meeting held on November 23, 2018 in conjunction with the 32nd CACCI Conference in Istanbul, Turkey. Earlier, he was also elected as Chairman of Chinese International Economic Cooperation Association (CIECA) in November 30, 2016.

Mr. Kao has taken leading positions at the regional level such as being appointed as APEC Business Advisory Council (ABAC) member of Chinese Taipei from 1996 to 2009. He served as well as Co-Chair of ABAC Food Task Force in 1998 and promoted implementation of the APEC Food System initiative.

Mr. Kao was re-appointed as ABAC member in 2016. He also serves as Co-Chair of the ABAC Connectivity Working Group in 2017.

The CIECA is an independent, non-profit, professional business organization founded by the leading manufacturers and service firms in Taiwan, R.O.C. It is dedicated to maintaining frequent and friendly contacts with counterpart organizations, as well as developing mutually beneficial trade and investment relationships with the international business community all over the world. With the consolidation of bilateral business council meetings and international-related affairs, CIECA aspires to play a more active and constructive role in integrating and coordinating various functions, such as economic information center, business delegation visits, trade promotion, investment facilitation, technology transfer, and bilateral economic cooperation conferences.

Currently, CIECA maintains friendly and cooperative relationship with 145 counterpart organizations from 97 countries covering Europe, Asia, Oceania, Africa,the Americas, and the Middle East.

The APEC Business Advisory Council (ABAC) was created by the APEC Economic Leaders in November 1995 to provide advice on the implementation of the Osaka Action Agenda and on other specific business sector priorities, and to respond when the various APEC fora request information about business-related issues or to provide the business perspective on specific areas of cooperation.

ABAC comprises of up to three members of the private sector from each economy. ABAC members are appointed by their respective Leaders, and represent a range of business sectors, including small and medium enterprises.
